Today is going to be special why? Cause I am making beef patty salad. Many a times when we start eating salads we often tend to forget about over protein intake. It’s important to note that our bodies need fat to break down proteins in order to digest, and we need to balance it out in order to be fit.
Servings – 2 patties
Minced beef – 200 gms (less than 20% fat)
Egg – 1 yolk
Bread crumbs – 1 tablespoon
Red onions rings – 1/2 cup
Red onions diced – 2-3 spoons
Freshly crushed pepper – 1/2 teaspoon
Cheese Slice – 2 of any choice
Pineapple – 2 freshly sliced ring
Honey – 1/2 teaspoon
Olive oil – 1 teaspoon
Spring Mix – 1 Bowl
Balsamic vinegar – 2 teaspoon
Salt to taste
In a bowl mix the minced beef with diced onions, crushed pepper, egg yolk and salt.Add the breadcrumbs and mix it again. Once all the ingredients have been mixed, make two patties and keep it resting for at least 10 minutes.
Pre heat your fry fan (Big enough to accommodate two patties comfortably) – high temperature. A good way to this is to put a few drops of water once the water evaporates you know your pan is hot. Cook the patties on one side then flip them to cook the other side (3 and a half minutes each side). I like my patties well cooked I am a bit paranoid always about eating raw meat unlike my husband who prefers medium done. Add the cheese slices on the patties once they are done.
Grilling Pineapple and the Onions Rings
Drizzle the pineapple and the onion rings with honey and salt. Brush them with the oil. Pre heat your grill pan for high heat, and grill the pineapple and the onion rings for 2-3 minutes per side or until the grill marks appear on them.
In a service bowl mix the spring mix along with two teaspoon balsamic vinegar add a pinch of salt. Place the patty and add the grilled onion rings and the pineapple on top of it. Now, enjoy this juicy, fresh beef salad. Don’t forget to try it and share.
